While most of these events are designed initially for their local policy context, authorizers from other states are welcome to attend and may find the topics interesting and applicable in their own settings. - California Charter Authorizing Professionals (CCAP) Webinar on Verified Data Tools
January 12, 2024 @ 11:00 am – 12:15 pm PST.
This session is highlighting an innovative approach to school accountability in California. The approach to data, the dashboard for reporting, and lessons of this multi-district collaboration may be of interest to authorizers from other states. The meeting is part of CCAP’s series on verified data tools for school academic performance. Representatives from the CORE Districts will share information on the work of their Data Collaborative. These initiatives include the CORE Insights Dashboard, designed to provide deeper metrics beyond the California School Dashboard, and several analytics platforms. Examples of collaborative efforts, including among authorizers and charter schools, also will be discussed. CORE is a non-profit organization of nine large California school districts formed to provide the infrastructure for multi-district collaborations. Please register here.
- California Charter Authorizing Professionals (CCAP) 2024 Charter School Authorizers Conference
June 18-21, 2024, Irvine Marriott, Irvine CA.
This is the biggest conference in the country dedicated to school district authorizers. The content is initially designed for California authorizers, but authorizers from other states can learn from the materials and network with peers. Conference website, registration, and call for proposals.
- NN4DA Public Nature of Charters Work Group
This group meets on the last Monday of each month at 2:00 pm Mountain Time. The next meeting is Monday, January 29. The group discusses developments related to the legal and policy issues around the public nature of charter schools, including religiously affiliated charter and religious charter schools.
