You are invited to an NN4DA Webinar on assessing the risk of the ESSERs Fiscal Cliff to charter schools.
Date: Tuesday, March 12, 2024
Time: 11:00 am to 12:00 pm MST
National expert on school finance and resource use, Dr. Betty Chang, from Education Resource Strategies (ERS), will share guidance from, 6 Key Factors to Assess Every District’s Risk of an Upcoming ESSER Fiscal Cliff. These risk factors are equally relevant to charter schools — if not more so.
Participants will learn about the risk factors and then discuss the implications of this risk for charter schools and steps that authorizers may be able to take to identify or respond to charter schools headed for, or in, financial crisis.
If charter schools in your portfolio received a lot of COVID dollars relative to their total budget, added staff during the pandemic, or committed their school to large salary increases using their one-time federal dollars, they could be at risk. Other attributes of a school’s financial health may exacerbate these new risks. Learn about these and other risk factors and talk with your colleagues about the implications of this risk.
