About Us
FACSA is a Florida-based nonprofit organization committed to empowering all Florida authorizers to enhance and implement best practices for effectively authorizing and supporting charter schools.
Established in 2003, FACSA's mission is to collaborate with school districts to provide professional standards and best practices that support and promote excellence in charter authorizing for all students. Members of FACSA meet regularly creating a platform for discussing current charter issues, sharing best practices, and providing continuing education.
Mission: The mission of the Florida Association of Charter School Authorizers (FACSA) is to support, facilitate, and strengthen quality charter school authorizing.
Staff
Marianne Blair, Executive Director
Marianne was an active member and former director on the board of FACSA. During her 15 years with Volusia County Schools, she was a high school business teacher and district administrator supporting various roles designated by the superintendent. While in the district office, Marianne was a specialist for Career & Technical Education overseeing the industry certification process and later curriculum development for career programs. As the School Choice Specialist, Marianne was responsible for the variance (school choice) process, home education, DJJ programs, charter school authorizing, and other district compliance supervision.
In addition to her role as Executive Director of FACSA, Marianne is also a member of the NN4DA governing council. Marianne is also a Professor of Accounting at Stetson University.
