The National Network for District Authorizing connects state-based organizations, agencies, and initiatives working to strengthen charter school authorizing by school districts and other local authorizers.
What is NN4DA?
NN4DA is a national network dedicated to strengthening charter school authorizing by school districts and similar local entities. Through state partnerships, NN4DA develops practical resources, professional learning, research, and technical assistance that help authorizers make strong decisions and support quality public-school options.

The mission of NN4DA is to support state-level initiatives that assist school districts and similar entities in implementing authorizing practices that lead to quality and equitable outcomes for all students.

Communication & Partnership
Connect state leaders, authorizers, researchers, policymakers, and charter-facing organizations to share expertise and address common challenges.
Authorizer Resources
Develop practical tools, guidance, research, templates, and model materials that can be adapted to different state contexts.
Professional Development & Community Support
Provide national webinars, peer learning, technical assistance, working groups, and state-level professional development.
Network Launch
In late 2021, CCAP, the Colorado Association of Charter School Authorizers (CACSA), and the Florida Association of Charter School Authorizers (FACSA), launched the National Network for District Authorizing (NN4DA), to support state-level initiatives working to strengthen the charter school authorizing practices of their local school districts.
The national network, starting with the three founding partner organizations, has been the recipient of three federal Charter School Program grants to support this work.
